Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. Is "Your Voice" a method for teaching voice lessons?
A. No, It's called the "your voice" method because it is centered around the music that's already inside of you, hence the term, "Your Voice."

Q. Do I need a piano?
A. No, a keyboard would be fine to get you started, preferably one with 88 keys.

Q. How long are the lessons... and how often?
A. Beginner lessons are half an hour, once a week.

Q. How often do I have to practice?
A. Practice time varies for each student. You should have a goal in mind as to what you want to achieve, then spend the time needed to achieve that goal. As a general rule for beginners, 20-30 minutes, 5 days per week is suffice.

Q. How much are the "Your Voice" lessons?
A. Lessons are $95.00 per month and tuition price includes the "Your Voice" method book and learning materials, as well as having access to professional recording services.

Q. How long does it take before I'll learn a song?
A. Due to the streamlined learning system in "Your Voice," most beginning students are playing songs within their first month!

Q. What makes your method of teaching different than those used by other teachers?
A. My method is an original one intended to release the music already inside of you, and thereby giving you greater control and understanding over that music. There are no methods currently doing this.

Here's what our students have to say about Sam and the"Your Voice"method

"Sam always encouraged me to write my own songs and to get out and perform them. I never would have gotten anywhere without him, he totally prepared me for my auditions when I decided to apply at Duquesne University and I know that everything that I used to pass my auditions came from him. Countless times, Sam has called me with great opportunities like being in a commercial, singing at different places, being in my first band. I never would of have written a song, gotten into Duquesne, or in a band without Sam, so I am eternally grateful to him."

Getting the Most Out of Piano Study:

According to the National Piano Foundation, a few simple guidelines will heighten the fun of piano instruction and help you make sure your child gets the most out of them. In fact, learning to play the piano is one of the most rewarding things a child can accomplish. A child can have as much fun during the learning process as an accomplished pianist has in performance. Parents should begin by deciding when to start piano instruction, seven or eight is an average age, although some kids can start earlier or later. (Pay attention to your child's interest in music, attention span and eagerness) Also, as millions of adult piano students can attest, it's never too late to begin.
